From the Isole Eolie
Eolietech is made by candygoogy (that's the handle), a developer from the Isole Eolie, the volcanic Aeolian Islands off the north coast of Sicily. The name comes from there: Eolie, plus tech.
The islands are where the project comes from, not what it sells. The site itself is black, white and grey, so your files and the tools stay in front. Two colours come from the islands: the deep teal of the Tyrrhenian Sea, used for links and buttons, and the orange of Stromboli's lava at night, kept for the logo.
Why privacy
Most online file tools upload your file to a server, process it there and send the result back. That asks for a lot of trust when the file is a scanned ID, a signed contract or a voice memo, and you can't see what happens to it on the other side.
Browsers can now do this work themselves. Compressing an image, merging PDFs or even running a speech model is fast enough on an ordinary laptop or phone. So Eolietech does the work there, and your file never has to travel.
Why open source
A privacy promise you can't check is only a promise. The code is licensed under AGPL-3.0, so anyone can read what each tool does, run it themselves or point out a problem.
The AGPL also means that anyone who runs a modified copy as a public service has to publish their changes under the same licence.
How it pays for itself
The free tools cost very little to run, because your device does the work. A paid plan, Pro, will come later for features that need servers, such as large AI models and an API. There are no ads.
